If you're involved at the point of construction, sale or letting of buildings recent changes to the law will affect how they can be marketed. Since January 2009, all appropriate non public sector buildings must carry an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to comply with the (EU) Energy Performance of Building Directive.
All applicable buildings are rated from A(best) to G(worst) in a scale calculated by assessing the buildings energy performance and environmental impact. The certificates are explained in more detail in the EPC Commercial and EPC Domestic menu's.
"The UK's buildings produce nearly twice the carbon emissions as cars and planes."
Government involvement and huge media attention means that the market is increasingly aware that more energy efficient buildings are now a major priority. Even comparatively minor changes in energy performance and the way we use each building will have a significant effect in reducing energy consumption and therefore carbon emissions. Generally, this can mean lower energy bills for the occupiers, and could make properties more attractive to potential purchasers or tenants. See the consultancy menu for more information.
And that's where Envirogood can really make a difference - to your building's energy performance, management or technology and its performance in such a competitive market.
